NAIGSO ORGANIZATIONAL NEWS




  • August 18, 2010 - Reminder: The NAIGSO-AA 2010 Conference (September 18-19) will be held in Alpine, California on the Viejas Indian Reservation. The conference will be held in keeping with AA and Native American traditions. Everyone is welcome and will be considered a participating member of the conference, able to share their local experience, strength and hope, to bring this council together, to share ways to carry the AA message in the Indian world where alcoholism runs rampant.   • October 17, 2006 The third General Service Conference of Alcoholic Anonymous for North American Indian Nations is scheduled to take place in San Diego, California, on January 28, 2007. The location of the conference will be at the Many Nations in Recovery facility, 3928 Illinois Street. The time is set for 12 o’clock noon. If you are not able to attend the conference please email the general manager any issues that you feel should be addressed at the conference.

  • October 17, 2006 - It has been suggested that an "Online Advisory Council" be established. The purpose of this council would be to give the NAIGSO-AA fellowship its voice as the group conscience.

  • September 27, 2006 - Final Report covering the Special Native American Forum held at Banning, California on May 20 -21, 2006.

  • June 28, 2006 - Minutes of the NAIGSO Board of Directors meeting held June 25, 2006 (#65) at the Many Nations in Recovery Facility, 3928 Illinois St., San Diego, CA.

  • May 2, 2006 - The first Southeast Native American AA Council Gathering took place over last weekend at the Yogi in the Smokies Campgrounds, Cherokee, North Carolina. It was hosted by the Indians in Sobriety Campout Committee. The next SE Council Gathering (Summer 2006) is scheduled to be held Saturday, August 26, 2006 at the Red Top Mountain State Park - Shelter #5, Cartersville, Georgia.

  • April 4, 2006 - We request our members to send in to NAIGSO any Native American AA meeting formats that are presently in use, which incorporate traditional Native American customs into the order of the meeting. These would be those meeting formats that differ from the “typical format” that we already have posted. We wish to make this information available to our family circles as alternative format(s).

  • February 15, 2006 - The GSO NY General Manager and the Pacific Regional Trustee, via the Regional/Special Forums Coordinator, responds to NAIGSO's offer to bring a presentation to the May 2006 Gathering "Min-Forum" put on by the AA General Service Office and requested by Native American AA Members in the Pacific Region.

  • January 19, 2006 The second General Service Conference of Alcoholic Anonymous for North American Indian Nations is scheduled to take place in San Diego, California, on January 29, 2006.   • December 31, 2005 - The Medicine Wheel Healing Circle/12 Step Journey group will be celebrating 9 years of carrying the message next Feb. 14th, 2006 at the Atlohsa Native Family Healing Agency, located at 343 Richmond St., Suite #103, LONDON, Ontario, Canada, N6A 3C2, in the rear of building.

  • May 29, 2005 - The suggestions and intents expressed at the first General Service Conference of Alcoholic Anonymous for North American Indian Nations on January 30th, 2005 are being used to guide our efforts this year. The status of our progress so far is listed for your information.

  • April 28, 2005 - NAIGSO receives information from Group Services in New York regarding the listing of NAIGSO in the U.S. and Canadian directories as the Central Office serving Native North American People.

  • April 14, 2005 - NAIGSO follows up on NAIGSO being listed in the U.S. and Canadian directories as the Central Office serving Native North American People.

  • February 28, 2005 - The first General Service Conference of Alcoholic Anonymous for North American Indian Nations took place in San Diego, California, on January 30, 2005. The suggestions and intents expressed at this conference will be used to guide our efforts in the upcoming year.
