Minutes of the NAIGSO Board of Directors Meeting

opening: Prayer and Potluck @12:05 pm

roll call: Quorum is present for regular business.

 

minutes: Approved meeting minutes #62 (11-27-05).

 

7th tradition: Collected $4.00. The 7th tradition total is $117.55 after $100.00 being transferred to the NAIGSO-AA account.

 

treasurers report: Balance: $3,207.01

 

registrar report: 453 Loners and 85 Groups are registered.

 

old business:  

·                     The 2nd General Service Conference of Alcoholics Anonymous for North American Indian Nations is scheduled for Sunday 1/29/06. It is approved to notify the membership and to post the event on the NAIGSO website. The GM should request members that are not able to attend the conference to email us any issues that should be discussed/addressed at the conference.

Status:

9-25-05: The membership has been notified, the event posted, and the GM has taken the action as suggested.

10-29-05: Additional planning tabled.

11-27-05: Don/Sylvia will bring chicken. Robert V. brings beans and T-shirts for raffle-giveaway. Dan/Casey bring cake and spaghetti casserole. Judy V. provides decorations. All board members to bring something for the raffle-giveaway. Will make final plans at the next meeting.

12-26-05: Plans finalized. GM will remind members that the conference is coming up. Action complete.

·                     “Stickies” with the NAIGSO logo and website address on them are desired to be made up to handout. Judy V. will contact Chuck R. for details of cost involved and how to proceed.

·                     A Native American AA Gathering with our U.S./Canada General Service Board (Mini-Forum) is scheduled for May 20 – 21, 2006. To support this event it is suggested that the flyer be posted on our website and the membership be notified. In addition the GM will write a letter to GSO NY and the Pacific Regional Delegate indicating our support in the gathering and offer NAIGSO’s service by volunteering to be included on the agenda to provide one of the presentations.

12-26-05: The flyer and letter have been posted on our website and the membership notified.

 

 

new business:

·                     A motion was approved to allow posting of Non AA Native American Sobriety Events on the website remembering we cooperate with these events but such cooperation ought never go so far as affiliation or endorsement, actual or implied.

·                     A motion was approved that the Newsletter no longer needs to be approved by the board but that the GM should work with the Newsletter editor to finalize and distribute it.

·                     Dan and Casey took sixteen NAIGSO Campout 2001 T-shirts (8 Large, 4 XLarge, and 4 XXLarge) for members in Bishop/Mammoth, California area.

·                     A motion was approved for Dan to obtain and provide an estimate as to how much it would cost to have NAIGSO-AA T-shirts made with the NAIGSO-AA logo on the front and back. A second estimate should include the cost for baseball caps and jackets.
