Dear NAIGSO-AA Family
Members,
The Native American Indian
General Service Office of Alcoholics Anonymous is entering into its second
decade of following Earl L.’s vision of service to Native American peoples.
With this legacy of service in mind the NAIGSO board members feel it is time
for the AA fellowship it represents to take a more active part in the vision.
It has been suggested that
an “Online Advisory Council” be established. The purpose of this council would
be to give the NAIGSO-AA fellowship its voice as the group conscience.
As issues concerning the
future of NAIGSO-AA come up they will be distributed via email to all council
members for discussion. Each member will be given an opportunity to share
thoughts and feelings. Thus, the AA principal of “group conscience” and the
Native American custom of “council
guidance” would be brought to together to form the NAIGSO-AA vision of service.
The council and the hand of the Creator would be given the opportunity to guide
all decisions of the NAIGSO-AA Board.
It is hoped that the council
will be inspired by the goals of NAIGSO-AA to provide the vision of service to
Native Americans who desperately want to get sober, that it can help bring
light into the dark world of the Native American alcoholic.
If you feel a warm spot in
your heart to serve on this council, please let us know. Simply send us your
email address along with your desire to serve. As soon as we have a few willing
people and the council is established, we will begin discussion of all issues
facing NAIGSO-AA’s service to alcoholics.
In the Vision of Service,
